Free trials convert quietly, so we weighted the features that actually stop a charge:
- Cancel-by timing — does it target the last safe day to cancel, not just the renewal date?
- Lead + final-day alerts — an early nudge and a last-chance backstop.
- Cancellation help — does it get you to the cancel page, or leave you to find it?
- Privacy — does it need a bank connection or an account?
- Price — one-time vs subscription.

TrialBell
Best for: catching trials before they convert, with the cancel page one tap away.
TrialBell works out the cancel-by date for each trial, reminds you early, then adds a final-day safety alert. It ships 42 direct cancellation links and 130 templates, tracks bills too, keeps everything on your iPhone, and Pro is one-time.
ReSubs
Best for: people who want trial alerts on iPad or Mac as well as iPhone.
ReSubs offers trial-expiry alerts, templates, CSV import and cloud sync across Apple devices. Note its App Store privacy label lists identifiers that may track you across apps and cloud sync — a different privacy posture than a fully on-device app. Lifetime is pricier (from $36.99).
Orbit
Best for: pulling trials you already have from screenshots or statements.
Orbit’s “Magic Import” adds subscriptions from screenshots, CSVs or bank statements, and it has trial alerts and widgets for everyone. It doesn’t advertise one-tap cancellation links, and its lifetime tier ($24.99+) costs more than TrialBell’s.
Bobby & Subby
Best for: a clean, private list at the lowest price.
Both are private, minimal trackers with renewal reminders. Neither app’s public App Store listing highlights a cancel-by workflow with a final-day alert or built-in cancellation links. That does not prove those capabilities are absent; it reflects what was publicly listed when this guide was verified. If you just want a tidy list for little money, they’re excellent. Methodology & limitations
Rankings are based on each app’s official App Store listing and, for TrialBell, the shipping app. We did not run all five apps side by side with identical trials, so feature availability reflects what’s publicly advertised, not private testing. “Not listed” means a feature isn’t advertised — not proof it’s impossible. Prices and features change; re-check each listing. There is no single “best for everyone” — the right pick depends on the platform, privacy and price trade-offs above.
