Disney+ cancels cleanly from your account page — unless somebody else bills you, in which case there's a trap that can keep charging you after you think you're done.

Quick steps

  1. Sign in to Disney+ on the web or in the app.
  2. Open your Account page and find the Subscription section.
  3. Select the cancel option and confirm.

Step by step

1. Open your account page. Sign in at Disney+ on the web or in the mobile app and go to Account.

2. Go to the Subscription section. Disney's help centre points to the Subscription section of the Account page on web or mobile as the place to cancel.

3. Confirm the cancellation. The cancellation takes effect at the end of your current subscription term, so nothing disappears the moment you confirm.

Billed by a third party? Read this before you touch anything. If you signed up through a billing partner — Apple, Amazon, Google, Roku, a cable provider and so on — the steps vary and you cancel with them, not with Disney. Disney's help centre is explicit about the trap: if a third party bills you and you delete your Disney+ account, you immediately lose access and can no longer manage the subscription through Disney+ — but the third party may still be billing you. Cancel with your billing partner first, then delete the account if you want to.

What happens after you cancel

  • You keep watching until the end of the current subscription term. How long that is depends on whether you're billed monthly or annually, or are inside a promotional period.
  • Your account survives. Cancelling doesn't delete your Disney+ account or the MyDisney account you use across Disney's other services.
  • Changed your mind? If you cancel and reconsider before the term ends, Disney says you can restart and continue without interruption.

Whatever you decide, the useful move is to put the date somewhere that will interrupt you. A cancel-by reminder a couple of days before the renewal turns "I meant to deal with that" into a decision you actually make.

Frequently asked

Does cancelling Disney+ delete my account?

No. Cancelling ends the subscription. Your Disney+ account and your MyDisney account both remain. Deleting the account is a separate action — and a risky one if a third party bills you.

When does Disney+ actually stop working?

At the end of your current subscription term, not immediately. The exact date depends on your plan and any promotional period you're in.
