Hulu's cancellation is genuinely simple. The part worth slowing down for is confirming it worked, because Hulu has a whole help article about people who thought they'd cancelled and hadn't.
Quick steps
- Open your Account page in a computer or mobile browser.
- Select Cancel under Your Subscription.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to the end.
Step by step
1. Use a browser, not the TV app. Head to your Account page on a computer or mobile browser and sign in.
2. Select Cancel under Your Subscription. Hulu will walk you through some on-screen steps. Follow them all the way through — stopping halfway leaves the subscription active.
3. Check the status afterwards. Once it has worked, your Account page shows “Your subscription will be canceled”, and Hulu sends a confirmation email.
Not sure who bills you? Hulu can be billed by Hulu, or by Apple, Roku, Amazon, Spotify, a Disney bundle or a TV provider — and the steps vary. Hulu's help centre says to confirm your billing party on your Account page, in the Payment Information section. If it's Apple, cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
What happens after you cancel
- You keep watching until the end of the current billing cycle, and you won't be charged again.
- Two confirmations to look for: the status line on your Account page, and the confirmation email. If you don't have both, assume it didn't go through.
- Only want a break? Hulu supports putting a subscription on hold rather than cancelling — worth knowing if you're stopping for a month rather than for good.
Whatever you decide, the useful move is to put the date somewhere that will interrupt you. A cancel-by reminder a couple of days before the renewal turns "I meant to deal with that" into a decision you actually make.
Never miss a renewal again
TrialBell reminds you before Hulu — or any subscription — renews, and keeps the cancel route one tap away. No bank connection, no account, everything on your iPhone.

How do I know my Hulu cancellation worked?
Your Account page should read “Your subscription will be canceled”, and you should get a confirmation email. Hulu publishes a separate help article for people who thought they had cancelled but hadn't, so it's worth checking both.
Can I pause Hulu instead of cancelling?
Yes — Hulu supports putting your subscription on hold, which is a better fit than cancelling if you're only taking a short break.
