LinkedIn buries cancellation several clicks deep, and it has a timing rule worth knowing: you need to cancel at least a day before your billing date, not on it.
Quick steps
- Click the Me icon → Premium features.
- Under Plan Details, click Manage subscription.
- In the Admin Center: Purchases → your active subscription → Cancel subscription → Confirm cancel.
Step by step
1. Open Premium features. On the LinkedIn website, click the Me icon at the top of your homepage, then select Premium features.
2. Click Manage subscription. It's under Plan Details. This takes you out to the LinkedIn Admin Center, which is why the flow feels longer than it should.
3. Find your subscription in Purchases. In the Admin Center, click Purchases in the left pane, then select your Active subscription.
4. Cancel and confirm. Under Actions, click Cancel subscription, then click Confirm cancel. The second click is the one that counts.
Subscribed on an iPhone? If you bought Premium through the Apple App Store, LinkedIn directs you to cancel on your Apple device from the LinkedIn mobile app rather than on the website. The general Apple-billed route is Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
What happens after you cancel
- Cancel at least one day before your next billing date. LinkedIn states this explicitly — leave it until the billing date itself and you can be charged for another cycle.
- A paid plan stays active until the end of the current billing cycle, so you keep InMail credits and profile insights until then.
- A free trial ends immediately. This is the opposite of the paid-plan behaviour: cancel a Premium free trial and the trial stops there and then, so cancel near the end of the trial rather than the moment you decide.
Whatever you decide, the useful move is to put the date somewhere that will interrupt you. A cancel-by reminder a couple of days before the renewal turns "I meant to deal with that" into a decision you actually make.
